Until the introduction of the Companies Act 2006 (Nov 2006) which introduced a new type of company law, the principal legislation under which companies in the Isle of Man were incorporated was the Companies Act 1931 to 2004. Now these two sets of Acts together with the Limited Liability Companies Act 1996 and 1999 run concurrently and business owners may chose the most appropriate legislation for their business.
